Okay, here's all the current shelf queens I have that I could possibly finish.... possibly.
Most of these are so close to being finished already so I won't get very many points for them.
Three of them are armor, four of you count the railroad flatcar. The rest are one aircraft, two ships, a boat, a landing craft, a delivery van and a building.
These are the armor:
First is an IBG 1/72 scale Diamond T Wrecker. All it needs is to be rigged and then find two hooks to put on the end of the cables, since one pinged off into Oblivion several years ago. Because of that this has been on my Shelf of Doom for four years now:
Next is a Tiger Models 1/72 scale Up-armored M-1114 Humvee. This one has been languishing for four to five years now. For some reason every time I pull that out to work on it; I lose all mojo for it. All I do is fidget with the parts and then put it away again:
This next one is also a Modelcollect German Schwere Platformwagen Type SSYMS 80 railroad flatcar that has been sitting for at least two years, possibly three now. All I have to do here is add the trucks underneath, and then finish with the remaining detail parts:
Finally, this last one is my bugbear; the Modelcollect 1/72 scale BMP-3 with full cage armor. This one has been languishing for seven years now. That is almost self explanatory:
Next up is my one aircraft.
This one is the Hasegawa 1/72 scale Shinmeiwa flying boat that has been languishing for three years now :
A closer look at the fuselage will tell you why:
After that I have two ships, a boat and a landing craft
The ships are:
The Hasegawa 1/700 scale Full Detail JMSDF Izumi aircraft carrier that has been sitting for at least five years now. This one is almost done. All I need to do is finish the last of the photo-etch, touch up the paint work, then build and paint the air wing. Easy peasy, so why am I not done? If you look close, you'll see where I stopped the Photo-etch:
Next is the Trumpeter 1/700 scale USS Sacramento AOE-1 UNREP ship that has been sitting in drydock for at least three years, possibly four. I have the basic hull and superstructure built. I need to paint it,m finish the details etc. yadda yadda yadda...
Next I have a Trumpeter 1/72 scale landing craft that's been in drydock for the last seven or eight years, maybe longer. Not sure off the bat what kind, but I have the basic hull done and the pilot house mostly done. I stopped this because I lost the pilot's wheel and the front ramp which is supposed to raise and lower; does not go together as advertised! Otherwise, it is close to being done:
The last one is an ancient Airfix 1/72 scale RAF Rescue Launch that had been started some six or seven years ago. I got some of it painted even, but the paint was uneven and I had to sand it smooth but never got back to painting it:
Next I have an AMT 1/24 scale 1929 Coke Delivery Van that has been sitting for three or four years now. This is the chassis that I had gotten done and painted. I stopped because I was trying to find out the best way to paint the main body:
Finally, I have this Italeri 1/72 scale Church Building that still needs some detail paint, and to see how I can improve the look of the brickwork. Beyond that, I stopped this because I need to source some stained glass windows to put in the windows:
And that is what I have so far. I might find more but these are good enough for now. I'll be lucky if I finish any of these beyond the two or three that are already practically finished before the deadline but hey, I'll play.
