Guys, there is a LOT of info out there online but sometimes it takes a bit of digging to find it. I wanted to share a few tricks with you to help you get the most out of your searches. Most of you probably know all these but here goes.
1. Returning better search results - typing in washington redskins will return all results with both washington AND redskins in them, using quote marks will return only the results that include the phrase "washington redskins". You can also use a + mark added to the word such as +airborne +infantry +germany +m113 to return results with all the words included but not in a specific order. You can also use the minus mark to not return results with certain words like +m5 +stuart -bmw -car etc, just make sure to not leave a space between the words and the + or - mark.
2. Image search - do a search for m12 gun motor and in the results you will see a image tab that shows images associated with that result, quite handy and most of you know this BUT did you notice that camera that appears in the search bar in the image search section? You can upload a photo or add a image url and search for similar images. Not everyone will name their pics M12GMC rather they might use the camera naming format dsc033 or img033 etc and you would have to rely on the word M12 being in the html of the website somewhere to get a hit on a pic but using the camera searches visually similar images.

3. The Wayback Machine ( archive.org/web/web.php ) yes most things online get saved somewhere, some pages like facebook save everything but sometimes websites die and all that info is lost, or maybe not. The wayback machine a archive of saved snapshots of different websites. With all the stuff out there not everything is saved but the bigger and more used a site is the odds are good it has a snapshot. For example I am gathering info on M12 Gun Motor Carriages and in the course of searching a bad url popped up for Steve Zaloga's M12 build that was featured on the now dead Military Modelling website. I add the bad url to the wayback machine and get a offering of multiple snapshots (times archived) and click the newest one and here is the result web.archive.org/web/20170319084932/http://www.militarymodelling.com/news/article/bunker-buster/3542# Depending on how the pictures are added to a page it may or may not be possible to recover all images but you get the page itself which is very helpful and if you open the html sometimes you can chase down the images.
This is all for now until something else comes to me, I hope it's of some help to you and if you have any tricks please share with us.
