The first Facebook / SoCal amps website online contest is beginning. The theme is Six or Eight. You can choose any military vehicle with six or eight driven road wheels. No half tracks, vehicle spare tires,or dual tired axles will be counted. That's a wide variety of vehicles over many theaters of battle throughout history. If you're unsure check with me or Robert and we'll help you out.
You can build it in any scale, you can build it out of the box, or lavish it with every resin and photo etched piece you can find. We also ask that it be a new project please do not use models built before the contest date or Shelf Queens or any other uncompleted project. Besides you want to buy a new model anyway correct?
The contest runs from January 1st to June 30th. There will be gift certificates awarded for first, second, and third places. More on the prizes later. We're going to use gift certificates because some of our members live outside the United States and that will allow them to cash in their prize.
Aside from building a stellar model, it is important that you share your progress on the Facebook page and the SoCal amps website page. We want to encourage people to see your build process on both sites. You're going to get extra points for how much you share your process with us as well as the quality of your built model. Be sure to set up a folder on the Facebook and the SoCalamps website that you can put photos of your progress. The SoCal amps website is located at SoCalamps.Org
Okay that's about it for now.If you have any questions post them, email me or message me on Facebook. And thanks to Eric Jensen for coming up with the theme idea.
Now go out there and start building the fantastic models this group is known for.
